Chinese New Year, the Year of the Metal-Rat

Welcome to the year of the Metal-Rat

Chinese New Year:

The Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is one of the most important holidays in Chinese tradition. The exact date is determined by the lunar cycle. Usually, it falls between the days of the second new moon and the winter solstice, the 21 January and 21 February. In 2020 it's the 25th of January.

2020 is the year of the Metal-Rat. The rat is the first animal in the Chinese zodiac and ushers in a new 12-year zodiac cycle this year. For this reason, the year of the rat is a time for a fresh start and new beginnings.

2020 in the Year of the Metal-Rat:

The rat stands for intelligence, resilience and being down-to-earth. Challenges turn into opportunities, so it is also a good time to fulfill long-cherished dreams. The rat reminds us that we are the architects of our lives and can become anything we want.

Further years in the zodiac sign of the rat: 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008.

I wish you all an enjoyable year of the Metall Rat and I look forward to another exciting time for the TCM practice Dörflinger.

Take care, Petra
